Green revolution must begin by revolutionising pleasure |

If the aim in life is to be happy and fulfilled then it must be achieved without depleting 5 capitals of the world as defined by Forum for the Future: natural (any stock or flow of energy and material that produces goods and services), human (people's health, knowledge, skills and motivation), social (institutions that help us maintain and develop human capital in partnership with others), manufactured (material goods or fixed assets which contribute to the production process rather than being the output itself) and financial (has no real value itself but is representative of natural, human, social or manufactured capital enabling the other types of Capital to be owned and traded).
Maybe we need to reshape how individuals see themselves in the global context, to make them not only understand that we are all part of the dynamic global system, influencing each other and the 5 capitals within it, but also inspire people to feel responsible for what and how we do things that gives us pleasure and makes us happy.
I've been told that 'small is beautiful'. I've been told to look 'beyond GDP' and figures in savings account. So maybe we simply need to identify (or change if necessary) how and from what we get pleasure without minimising the amount of it.
